Yatağan Thermal Power Plant is Turkey's fifth largest thermal power plant, built on an area of 26 m3, 1.163.000 km from Yatağan town, 2 km north of Muğla province.
Its total installed power is 630 MW, annual energy generation capacity is 4096 GWh (4 billion 500 million kWh). An average of 30.000.000 m3 of stripping and 5.200.000 tons of coal are produced annually.
PROBLEM
The 1.163.000 m2 facility welcomes 2600 employees and hundreds of visitors every day. It is very important to carry out occupational safety and security audits in order to eliminate occupational accidents or to intervene early in this strategic facility. All employees and guests at the facility are required to immediately report a situation within the facility to the authorities. Accidents or emergencies require early intervention.
Safety and occupational safety inspections at the facility need to be managed quickly and efficiently.
In order to calculate the payrolls of the personnel correctly and to reach the personnel list in the field in case of emergency, the entrance and exit times of the personnel to the facility must be correct. This information must be accessed immediately.
In order to prevent accidents within the facility, the speed of the vehicles within the facility should be followed.
There are difficulties in managing staff, guest and vehicle check-ins. A busy entry point creates a bottleneck, resulting in longer waiting times at the facility entrance.
On-site workers, contractors, and guests should not enter hazardous or critical areas without proper training and authorization.
In emergencies, it is necessary to identify the employees at the emergency assembly point and the missing employees and their locations.
Task management. Our client has other tasks that are location based and need to be executed within a specific time frame. The client does not receive any scalable information about the above-mentioned tasks to avoid task confusion.
Theft of valuable equipment within the facility should be prevented and can be accessed quickly when needed.
Persons entering hazardous work areas without appropriate safety equipment must be identified immediately.
It is necessary to shorten the verification and registration times of the visitors needed at the entrance security point of the facility and to inform the visitors digitally about occupational health and safety.
SOLUTION

With the Navbea Gateway network within the facility, real-time positions of employees, guests and equipment are monitored.
Navbea Smart cards that have a special print design for staff and guests and transmit a signal per second with Bluetooth Low Energy technology. Staff and visitor card signals scanned with Navbea Gateway devices provide instant access to the location information of the card within the facility via the map. It has special sensors that detect the fall and inactivity of the person. In addition, with the emergency button on it, it offers an easy and fast solution to call for help in emergency situations. Navbea Smart Card also has mifare chip. Navbea cards can be easily integrated into the access control system with Mifare chips. Thus, access will be provided with Navbea personnel and visitor cards, and all information such as personnel entry and exit, where they are, employees in the buildings and outdoors will be instantly accessible.
The Navbea system uses gateways to divide the facility into small sections and access control authorization can be defined for each section based on workgroups or departments.
With Navbea Smart Cards on the Navbea platform, personnel and guests have special or group or department-based location authorizations. If an unauthorized person enters an unauthorized area, the security unit is immediately notified and a warning message is sent to the person at the same time.
Entry and exit of the personnel to the facility is made with turnstile or controlled access control system. Turnstiles were integrated into the Navbea system. Remote turnstile management is enabled in the handheld terminal application for remote control of turnstiles. The entrances of the personnel in the service vehicles are made by the security unit by collectively scanning with hand terminals and by making image verification. The person entering the facility without control is immediately notified to the relevant persons.
